I think the name will be Phantom...

I just got off the phone with Rick. He made it home in one piece, but he did have the trip from hell.

At this point I didn't even care about the Car anymore, I am just glad he made it home safe.

So it all started with his plane getting delayed in Chicago by 4hrs. Then the owner and him had a misunderstanding at the airport that caused another delay. Then there was terrantual rain, brakes issues, a highwaypatrol. Issues with credit cards and a blown tire. I hope one day he will write it all down for me to share with you guys, but right now, he is home save, after not sleeping for 36hrs and no food.
Baby Blue is in his drive way with not a scratch on her. The brakes need to be looked at, but other than that she has new engine, new transmission, new gastank, interior and pretty much new paint.

I really like the way she looks, but it's not what she will look like. So with all the crap that was going on, I think her name will be Phantom, like the Phantom Traveller.

I can now breathe and can't wait to pick her up in a couple of weeks.

Thank you Rick!!!

Phewww....

So finally after all this waiting...
Rick is picking her up tomorrow in PA. Yay!!! Baby Blue as we now call her is going to be ours. Rick is flying out there and then driving her to KS. From there he is installing the corner lights and the right Tires. I am about to get the Bumper Guards so that I can have them shipped to KS as well.
Then if everything goes accordingly, I am flying out to Kansas and get her just in time for DallasCon.

This is crazy but it seems the stars have just aligned right for us to do this. We've gained a wonderful friend in Rick and I am just so excited.

More planning...

Steve and I got to talking last night and figured the best way to do this, would be to fly Rick to PA and he can look at the car, get the title and then drive it to KS. There he can do the minor stuff we talked about and I will go up there and drive it home. Or do a stop at the SPN Convention, depends on when he has the car ready. It won't be baby, but it is a beautiful car and I can't wait to get my hands on the steering wheel and my foot on that gas pedal.

I always wanted a classic car and this is a classic. I am so stoked that I have such a supportive husband and that we are going on another adventure together.

Happy Hunting

Nailbiting and good news....

So yesterday, I was attached to my phone, cause I was waiting for the all important phone call, that the owner is ready to sell the car and to figure out the logisitics of it all.
Well no phone call came. Rick called me and we chatted and he had not heard from the owner either. So I pretty much wasted a day, well I did work, but I needed groceries and that did not happen. *sigh

So Steve and I decided to let Rick know if his friend is still interested in selling his car, we rather give him the money. I then e-mailed Rick he replied that he talked to the owner, but didn't have time to get the details to me yet. I was ok with that.

So I stayed up later than I should have and Steve and I got to talking about that I probably should fly to check and make sure there actually is a car. And that way we can just go to the bank and I can drive the car and yada yada yada. I kept checking my phone and no e-mails. Finally I hit the refresh button and sure enough there is an e-mail. The owner went out of town to celebrate his birthday and won't be back till Monday.  Who does that??? So here I was all day thinking the worst and the dude just went out of town.

So now the plan is for us to wait for him to get in touch with either Rick or us. I am flying up there at some point next week to look and buy our baby. Then it will get shipped to Kansas, and Rick will do some minor stuff on it, like brakes, tires and corner lights and then I get to there and pick her up and drive her home.
So we need to clean the garage!!!

First post on our Journey...

This is our Journey of hunting down an 1967 Impala or Caprice and turning it into Dean Winchester's beloved Baby. Yup we are getting a Metallicar.

We almost had one last week, our friend was ready to jump in his car and drive to get it. But sadly the owner just up and sold it.
So the hunt started again, we have our feelers out and we are working on it.

We definitely want one that is running, Steve is talented, but he is not a mechanic... yet. I want to learn the ins and outs of the car as well. I am also looking forward to spending time with my husband as this is our project together. Since Dalek Project took so much time of his, I really want to do this together.

We are also greatful of our friends help. He already rebuild a few of these and so we get the scoop and it saves us a ton of research.

So come and join us on this Journey...
